The middle stripe is white to represent Utah's snowy regions with "the greatest snow on earth". The top stripe is blue to represent Utah's open skies that are a uniting feature over all the state. In the center of the flag are some connected rings. These represent the people of Utah. The rings are gold to represent the people's commitment to excellence. There number of rings is five to represent Utah's five native tribes. The rings are a hexagon shape to represent the hard working early pioneer settlers that earned Utah is nickname of the Beehive State. The rings are arranged with three rings over two to represent that Utah is welcoming to the people of the world, both those who have settled here and those who come to visit. |
