Description |
Utah is called the "Beehive State" for a reason. The beehive is an important symbol and one of the oldest emblems of Utah. Maintaining this for the states future honors the history and legacy of Utah while modernizing it. The three stripes of the flag represent Utah's location at the convergence of three distinct geological regions: the Rocky Mountains, the Great Basin, and the Colorado Plateau. White symbolizes the snow that graces Utah's beautiful peaks, providing water to the state and recreational opportunities. Blue symbolizes the depth of our lakes and rivers. It also provides a firm foundation to stand on. Yellow symbolizes our optimism and the opportunities that exist for Utahns. |
