This flag design is inspired by something everyone living in the state can feel connected to - Utah's natural beauty. Colors (from top to bottom) 1) The top and bottom of the flag are framed in golden orange - inspired by Utah's fiery sunsets that accentuate the beautiful mountain and desert backdrop. 2) The main part of the flag is outlined in red - symbolizing the red rocks of the state, one of the most recognizable and beautiful features of the land. 3) Just under the red outline is a deep blue - a reference to the old state flag, the beautiful sky, and the Great Salt Lake. Symbols (from top to bottom) 1) Snow-capped peaks - the beautiful mountains are enjoyed by everyone in the state, and are also one of the most recognizable features of the land. 2) A soaring gull - the state bird 3) The Beehive - a symbol of the state since its statehood, symbolizing hard work and reminding us that we must all work together to create and maintain our beautiful home (something that is good for us all to remember) 4) The Sego Lily - the state flower, a reminder of the hardships the pioneers endured when they first came- when they had nowhere to call home- and symbolizes that Utah should be a home for all. 5) Delicate Arch - probably the most recognizable natural wonder of the state, further symbolizing the beauty and unique features of the state.
