"A variation of the first design, where the copper parts and beehive pattern is rearranged into the Crossroads of the West pattern that is found in Utah's commemorative flag. Sego lily: Centered in the flag is the state flower of Utah. It is also a symbol of persistence and tenacity, for how it can thrive even in the harsh conditions of the desert. Copper: Represents hard work and industriousness, which are two core values the state of Utah expresses through its motto. It is also the color of Utah's state mineral (copper) and its canyons for which the state is well-known for. Blue: Taken from the current Utah flag, it represents the lakes and rivers of Utah, as well as tying the flag to the nation's colors. It also represents freedom and peace. Stylized beehive pattern: On the bottom-left and upper-right corners are yellow stripes that references the beehive, an extremely important symbol for Utah. It represents the industry, harmony, order and frugality of the people, and of the sweet results of their toil, union and intelligent cooperation."
