Dr Parks was born in Berkeley, California in 1950. Dr Parks received his B.S. from the University of California, Irvine in 1972 and his Ph.D. from Yale University in 1978. Dr Parks was an Assistant Professor of Anatomy at the University of Utah from 1978-1983 and an Associate Professor from 1983-1987. Dr Parks was named Professor in 1987. Dr Parks was Chair of the Department of Neurobiology and Anatomy from 1992-2007. Dr Parks served as Executive Director of the University of Utah Brain Institute before being appointed University Vice President for Research in 2008. |
