This flag attempts to create a simplified design well still maintaining a intricate feel. It consists of two colors. Yellow, taken from the common beehive symbol, represents the sweetness of nature. The blue, represents the people of Utah and calls back to the original blue background of the historical flag. I went with a darker blue as I believed it better contrasted the yellow. The bee wings I choose as a way to represent the Beehive well avoiding the issues some had with the previous flag concept, seeing it as looking like a corporate logo. The color scheme represents both the coexistence of the people of Utah with nature well also showing nature as part of Utah's identity as a whole. Rather than go for a simple split in the middle background, I instead incorporated the State of Utah into the background to add uniqueness to the flag as a whole. I also believe this design could effectively be made into products, such as incorporating the wing onto the back of shirts and other wearables, and having the potential for the symbols to be used separately well still recognizable from the colors.
