Description |
Presenting Symptom: Retinal opacity. This anomaly, often mistaken for cotton wool spots or exudates, is in fact a congenital myelination of nerve fibers without pathologic significance. It is characterized by white opacities beginning on the nerve head and having characteristically fimbriated edges. Its superficial position in the retina is indicated by the fact that it covers the central retinal vessels at the margin of the disc. Disease/ Diagnosis: Congenital myelination of nerve fibers |
