Description |
Presenting Symptom: Loss of vision OD. Pathology: Retinal opacity. Clinical: The patient was an 84-year old male with a sudden onset blindness in the right eye. By the time the photograph was taken - 24 hours later - the retina had become opaque centrally with a cherry-red macula and partial sparing of a parapapillary area. The circulation had been partially restored but segmentation of the blood can be seen in the inferior temporal vessels of the photograph. Disease/ Diagnosis: Retinal artery occlusion |
