Dr Gray was born in Provo, Utah in 1953. Dr Gray received his bachelor's degree in 1977 from Brigham Young University and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Utah in 1981. Following graduation, Dr Gray completed his internship in general surgery at LaCrosse Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Dr Gray did his residency in otolaryngology - head and neck surgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and Iowa City. While at Iowa, Dr Gray received a Master of Science degree. Dr Gray completed his professional training with a postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric otolayngology - head and neck surgery at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. Dr Gray was a former president of the American Society of Pediatric Otolayngology and member of the University of Utah Research Committee. Dr Gray was assistant medical director at Primary Children's Medical Center was associate professor in the department of surgery, division of otolaryngology at the University of Utah. Dr Gray's areas of research were extensive and included laryngeal physiology, vocal cord pathophysiology, children's airway disease, vocal cord reconstruction, and occupation-related vocal disease. Dr Gray held the Charles B. Hetzel Presidential Endowed Chair in Otolaryngology. Dr Gray died in 2002. |
