Description |
Dr L. George Veasy (Class of '46). In 1968, Dr Veasy was named director of pediatrics, education and research at Primary Children's Medical Center about a mile away from the University of Utah. He would eventually lead PCMC's move to the University of Utah's campus in 1990, but in the late '60s, his efforts were focused on setting up needed sub-specialty practices at PCMC, including his own pediatric cardiology practice. For his lifetime of dedication to pediatric patients, Dr. Veasy was awarded the first Service to Children Award, presented by the Utah Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Intermountain Pediatric Society. Dr Veasy is Professor Emeritus of Pediatrics. Dr Veasy died in 2021. |
