Description |
Grant Hunsaker, age 6, was the first admission to the University Medical Center, July 10, 1965. The center of attention opening day, Grant was presented with a plaque and a blue toy Tonka truck by the medical center staff. Pictured also, are Dr Kenneth Castleton, Dean of the College of Medicine, Grant's mother, and hospital administrator, Vernon L. Harris. In all, 93 patients were transferred that day from the out-of-date Salt Lake County General Hospital to the new University Medical Center. |
