Title The impact of the Glen Canyon Dam on the Colorado River: options for the future
Date 2023
Description The Grand Canyon and the Colorado River at its base are iconic natural features of the western United States that are revered by many. This landscape may be well known for its resplendent red canyon walls and beautiful river with huge whitewater, but it is also famous for the monstrous dams that control this magnificent river to provide electricity and 8.23 million acre-feet of water each year for the human populations in the surrounding states (Glen Canyon Institute, 2018). One of these such dams is the Glen Canyon Dam, which is the dam that creates the equally famous Lake Powell, a classic American vacation site for those who love motorized boating and a chance to relax in nature.
