Utah is the beehive state so I wanted to include the beehive. The beehive has also been included in all of the past designs of the Utah flag, so that is another reason why I wanted to include it. The beehive represents working together, being united in one purpose. It also represents a strong community, which I believe Utah is. There are also six of our state flowers, the Sego lily, representing the six tribes that were originally in Utah. I wanted to make the design very simple. I used close to the same colors that are in Utah's current flag. These colors are associated with what they are, so it is easy to remember.
