Description |
The George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Critical Care Pavilion was opened in 2003. The $42.5 million dollar project was the first major expansion of the health sciences center complex in more than 20 years. The first floor houses the hospital Emergency Department, in which urgent care areas are separated from non-urgent treatment areas but situated such that the two units could function together or separately as patient volume dictates. Operating Rooms are located on the third floor and were added to the existing OR Suite so as not to create staffing inefficiencies. A new post-anesthesia care unit and 24 private recovery rooms were added and connected to the expanded OR Suite. |
