Joseph T. Kingsbury was born November 4, 1853 near Uinta in Weber County. He was the first President of the University of Utah to have attended the University. He became a chemistry teacher at the University of Deseret in 1878. He attended Illinois Wesleyan and received his Ph.B in 1891, his A.M. in 1892 and his Ph.D. in 1894. He was President of the University of Utah from 1897-1916. |
