| Description |
Presenting Symptom: Narrowing of retinal arteries and veins. Pathology: Hypertension. Clinical: The patient was a 75-year old male with severe hypertension. Aside from the marked narrowing and irregularity of all the retinal arteries, the central vein shows an attenuation of its main trunk at the base of the physiologic cup and a pronounced distension of venules at the edge of the disc. These latter apparently drain into the choroid because of an obstructed central retinal vein. Disease/ Diagnosis: Retinal vein occlusion |
