Description |
Dear Editor; As a child; I moved from Maryland; with it's garish; undrawable and totally heroic flag; to Utah whose symbol is unintelligible; even with a magnifying glass and a Daughter of Utah Pioneers interpreter Surely our flag must have been designed by a committee I gleefully submit my entry into your campaign to make our flagpoles more beautiful I took the "Pack it with symbolism" approach The three major geographical areas are represented: the white bar shows the Great Basin Desert of the eastern part of the state; the green field is for the forested alpine region; and the red arch symbolizes the red rock country The seven stripes in the beehive honor the six tribes present at the time of "Discovery;" Plus one for all the immigrants that came later Thank you for this opportunity to feel like a I have some power over this ancient crime against good design/ Who knows; maybe the Governor will notice; and hire a New York Agency to update our banner |
