Description |
The gold trapezoid evokes a beehive, the state symbol. The star represents Utah's statehood, as the 50 statehood stars on the US flag. The color black represents Utah's virtue of industry. The color red represents the unique colors of Utah's landscape. The red stripes, designed with a dynamic diagonal arc, represent the westward journey followed by Utah's founders as they fled persecution. The five white stripes represent the five Native tribes in Utah: Ute, Dine' (Navajo), Paiute, Goshute, and Shoshone |
