Image of Sixteen Patch Buiscuit quilt created in 1918 by Johanna Christensen Petersen. Also includes questionnaires describing the quilt completed by Dorothy Stoddard as part of the Utah Quilt Guild's documentation days held from 1988-1994. Wedding quilt. She shared the sleep and washed and carded the wool in it. Every stitch in by hand. The puffiness thread run around the edge to make the puff then each puff was filled with a little piece of wool and stitched in to hold it in place. They could only get either black or white thread in those days to quilt to quilt with she back stitched to make sure the quilting wouldn't pull out The materiel was called. |
