Description |
"The swooping red double lines on the left symbolize three things at once. Two curved lines to evoke layers of sedimentary rock; red for the color of many of those iconic landscapes; and the sun, shining down on us so much in this desert climate. White and yellow were chosen for the background to represent the snow that caps our highest peaks, and the open desert that lies between mountain ranges. The three triangles coming off the double swoop are reminiscent of feathers featured in the artwork of several of the native tribes of the state, hanging from flutes or dream catchers, to honor their history as an integral part of this beautiful place." |
