"Utah is a leader among states in our nation and beyond. We are known for our mountains, not only because we have some of the best in the world, but because we continue to climb and overcome obstacles. That is why I chose the mountain as the primary symbol in this design. The beehive represents industry and heritage. We truly stand on the shoulders of giants and must never forget the sacrifice of our forebears. The red, white and blue colors are timeless and continue to stand for purity (white), valor (red), and justice (blue). Utah embodies them all." |
