Image of Crazy Patch quilt created in 1897 by Catherine Greedwood Rakestraw. Also includes questionnaires describing the quilt completed by Rakestraw's granddaughter, Betty Boyer Sumsion, as part of the Utah Quilt Guild's documentation days held from 1988-1994. This quilt was made in Metz, Indiana by Rakestraw and several members of her extended family. It was intended as a wedding gift for her daughter, Glida Rakestraw, who married Ernest M. Boyer in the Salt Lake Temple on March 30, 1898 |
