Typescript of a biographical sketch of George Washington Gill Averett, from an interview. He was born in Tennessee in 1824 and lived in Missouri and Illinois during the persecutions of the Mormons there. He went to California during the gold rush and returned to Illinois to pursue work as a wheelwright before coming to Utah in 1859, finally settling in Washington County in 1861 |
