Guide to the "Campus courier"

This collection consists of issues of the Campus courier which was created for the Westminster College community in 1980 by the Office of Public Relations. Published biweekly for 3 years, the Courier served as a newsletter for the college faculty and staff members.

Beginning on August 25, 1980 the publication was printed biweekly and continued to run fairly regularly until the last issue on July 1, 1983. The newsletter stops abruptly without explanation. It was replaced by a similar publication, the Update, which was also printed by the Office of Public Relations, and began only a few months after the final edition of the Campus courier.

Typically, the Courier contained informal news briefs pertaining to issues and activities on campus and in the surrounding community. Articles contain information regarding new faculty and staff members, student activities and special events. Each article is brief, usually consisting of only a few paragraphs or a few lines of information. Most issues of the Campus courier are printed on regular paper with attached handouts, flyers and supplemental materials. These attachments include advertisements for activities, special instructions for faculty and staff, or printouts of student enrollment information.

Some issues contain a calendar with a list of campus events and activities, advertisements for special programs, and information from the president of the college or the administration.
