Blue background with thin gold border in center is a beehive with 45 white stars in a ring around it and a white Sego lily at top of circle

This is the first design, and is the one that will be the base for the other two designs. I believe that the beehive is a very important symbol to our state. You will see a beehive on pretty much anything that relates to Utah. And following my beliefs that it is a very important symbol, I made it the centerpiece. The beehive is surrounded by 45 stars signifying Utah as being the 45th state in the Union. At the top of the ring of stars, I put a sego lily, the Utah state flower. I think this symbol is just as important as the beehive, so I put it in as a representation of Utah's beauty. For the background color I used the blue that is on the current state flag. This is so the flag has a sense of familiarity. Also when I was asking people at school if I should keep the blue, or change the color, I had a vast majority say they wanted to keep the blue. Finally I put a gold border around the edge of the flag. This is a very unique feature and only 2 other states have a border around the edge of their flag. I made it gold to stick with the theme of white, blue, black, white and gold. This border will allow the flag to stand out and give it a little more light color. I came to this design after scrapping and starting over 6 times, and it took me about a month and a half to come too. I went with this one as I felt it was well made, but not overdone like some of my first designs were. After asking around with friends and random people at school, I got a lot of positive feedback on this design, which is why I chose it. I went with white for the stars as white stars represent purity and hope, which I think is very fitting for what our state stands for.
