The main points of my flag design are the bumblebee and the aspen tree branch. The rocky mountains make an appearance in the background as well. The bumblebee plays off of "The Beehive state" It represents the hardworking people of Utah. It also represents a sense of community, as well the beautiful natural aspect of the state. The Bee is also a way to connect to the younger generation as the Bee is a huge symbol for those involved in environmental conservation which is a huge issue these days (Save the Bees) with a bee on the flag, front and center, I could see this on lots of teen's water bottles and promoting a sense of pride in being a Utahn in our teenagers. The Aspen branch also represents the sense of community and the feeling of being there for each other despite hardship. Aspen Trees grow with their roots interconnected to each other (which is why you never typically see a lone Aspen tree) So the Aspen tree promotes a sense of "You are not alone" The mountains take place in the background, like they do in many northern Utahns life. No matter where you look they are constantly there! Strong and Silent, they represent a sense of everlasting and eternity, which is what we hope Utah can last for. Utah is filled with so many beautiful natural elements which is what so many people love about the state, so I included the most iconic ones.
