"The overall design is meant to represent our state as the Crossroads of the West and the intersection of history and progress. The navy on top represents our mountains up north and the orange on the bottom the beautiful sandstone to the south. The golden ring represent our never ending cycle of progress and, hopefully, unity. The aspen leaf not only represents our state tree but also the fact that an aspen tree in our state is the largest organism on Earth and represents a unified state that covers lots of area but grows as one."
