Description |
Blue for the heritage of the original flag and the lakes and sky. Red for the red rock in Southern Utah and to keep with the iconography of the USA. White stars for snow, salt, and the sego lily; all of which are important symbols of Utah's identity. Gold for the wealth of ideas and diversity of our modern state in the shape of a hex to represent the beehive and the "industry" of our early history. There are five stars to represent the five original tribes, to honor their legacy and the way they shaped the land we live in today. The hex crosses between the two colors, showing how Utah is willing to bridge between ideas, religions, and the various regions/areas within the state. |
