Description |
I chose blue, white, and orange on a diagonal. The blue represents the Great Salt Lake and Utah Lake (or the Great Basin) in opposition to the red sandstone, which has more of an orange hue than a true red, the blue located in the northwest and the orange located in the southeast. The white stripe in between represents the Rocky Mountains and the Colorado Plateau separating the two regions with snow-capped peaks, generally moving in a southwest to northeast direction like the mountains across the state. The blue and orange are contrasting or complimentary colors, which balance each other like sandstone cliffs against a blue sky. The slant vaguely hints at the shape or boundaries of Utah without making it obvious. The simplicity should be easy to replicate and memorize. |
