"The single white star on the blue canton within the gold circle represents Utah as the Star of the West. The circle is a carry over from the current flag signifying Unity. The five stripes represent the tribes of the First Peoples within Utah's borders - Shoshone, Ute, Piute, Goshute, and Navajo. Blue represents Loyalty and Justice; White represents Virtue and our snow-capped mountains; Gold represents honey referencing our state motto Industry." |
