The hexagonal shape symbolizes the beehive nickname as well as reflects a stable structure with strong morals within. A circle symbolizing unity displays a golden sun with a mountainous silhouette and light blue water; resembling the terrain and the Great Salt Lake. Surrounding the sun is light blue to represent the open sky, surrounding the water is gold to represent the arid desert. Nine, five-point stars hover above the mountains, signifying the 45th state admitted to the union. Dark Blue - Trust and Wisdom. Light Blue - Health and Integrity. Gold - Wealth and Prosperity. The stripes going through the flag represent a warm welcome to visitors, a helping hand to neighbors and support to the nation at-large." |
