Description |
The design consists of a blue background with a white stipe and three yellow stars in the middle. The white stripe symbolizes peace and harmony, as well as "the world's best snow" that Utah is known for. The blue also represents harmony, as well as Utah's Great Salt Lake. Each star represent something important that has happened to Utah. The first star represents the First Transcontinental Railroad, that was completed in Promontory Summit, Utah. The second star represents Utah being admitted as the 45th state of the United States. Lastly, the third star represents Salt Lake City, Utah hosting the 2002 Winter Olympics. The yellow color of the stars represents Utah's state emblem: the beehive. |
