Description |
Dr Burns was born in Unionville, Missouri in 1889. He received his A.B from the University of Missouri (1916); A.M. from the University of Michigan (1918) and M.D. from the University of Iowa (1924). Dr Burns was the Elizabeth Ward Fellow at Northwestern University (1931-1932). Dr Burns received his Ph.D. in 1933. Dr Burn was was an Assistant in Anatomy (1916-1917); Instructor (1917-1918) at the University of Michigan. Dr Burns was Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa (1924-1925). Dr Burns came to the University in 1925 as Professor and Dean of the School of Medicine from 1929-1931. He left the University in 1932 to become Director of the Department of Anatomy at Louisiana State University School of Medicine where he was later appointed Dean in 1939. |
