Description |
The central red image looks like a beehive (state emblem), a red-rock arch, a Navajo hogan, a Ute or Paiute Wickiup and a Goshute or Shoshone brush shelter. As the central image in the flag, it shows that home is central to our lives and that Utah is our home. The red symbolizes the red rock of southern Utah. The blue area of the flag shows mountains surrounding the central "home." Many citizens of Utah choose to live between the mountains in our many valleys and canyons. The blue also represents the Great Salt Lake and many other lakes and rivers we enjoy. The white represents the snow that caps our mountains and gives us the water we need. This flag design is simple and stands out. The red "home" element can be utilized on its own and the whole design can be stretched or cropped to be used in different designs. |
