Description |
"The colors are red, white, and blue, representing America as well as specific Utah values. Blue for loyalty, Red for courage and religious fervor, and White for peace and cleanliness. The shield in the middle is Black, a strong background, symbolizing power and sophistication. The shield shape represents safety and security, it's a symbol of shelter. The seal includes a Gold Beehive. The beehive is a symbol of Utah, we are, the beehive state. The beehive itself symbolizes community and hard work. The gold coloring represents love and wisdom, combined with black it is a show of power. The gold outline makes the seal pop, adding more emphasis to it. The seal also includes a small gold star, located underneath the beehive. This star is representative of Utah's star on the American flag, a symbol of Utah's place as one of the 50 states. Stars also represent excellence and achievements, power and exploration. It is meant to be an inspirational symbol. The X that comes to a point behind the seal is a cross, a religious symbol that also represents transformation. I feel that this is appropriate because the Utah flag has been the same for more than 100 years. The new flag is certainly a transformation and the X or, cross symbol is a fitting background." |
