Description |
"The 5 stripes on this flag represent the 5 Native tribes of Utah, as well as the 5 National Parks. The beehive is the state's symbol and a nod to its pioneer heritage, in the same style as what is used on the state's commemorative flag. The hexagon is a unique and appropriate replacement to a circle. The blue represents water, a crucial piece of our state's past, present, and future. The white represents snow and salt, things our state is famous for. The burnt orange represents the red rock, as well as copper, a nod to the state's mining past, and future in technology. These specific colors and design were also meant to emulate that of the American flag, while also being unique and distinctive, in the same way Utah is unique and distinctive both culturally and geographically within the United States." |
