Description |
"I summit that people have been coming to Utah for the same reasons that they did 175 years ago: to live, grow, work and worship free of persecution. And so starting at the core of the flag is the year 1847. Next our beehive: Our Industry. The cultivation, creation, and cooperation that has brought us to this point and leads the way to an incredible future. I declare that in this land of possibilities, there is more to do, and Utah will do it. The Sego Lilly: The natural beauty of this land is known the world over. We love and cherish our mountains, valleys, rivers, lakes, the minerals and all that live and grow within Utah. We care for and share this land with so many others; from the weekend visitor to the sliver screen. It is no wonder peace is found in Utah. The Seven Stripes: The perfecting, care and cultivation of our relationships with the Untied States and with the Native American Tribes. With all the strength of our hearts and for the greater welfare of all, we strive to be good neighbors and citizens. And when called upon, will lead, care for, and share with our neighbors and are grateful for their willingness to do the same. Colors Blue: For our roots and connections Gold: The product of industry. Honey, the powerhouse of healing, protecting, preserving and sweetening. White and purple: The flower that fed the starving. The survivors that can now fed the world." |
