The main entrance to the hospital portion of the Jon M. Huntsman Cancer Research Institute. Reflecting on his own hospitalization for cancer in 1993, Utah businessman and industrialist, Jon Huntsman, pledged to build "a superb cancer institute." With an initial $100 million donation in 1993, ground was broken for the first phase, the building of the Institute. A second donation of $125 million enabled construction of the cancer hospital addition. |
