Description |
Dr Digre received her medical degree from the University of Iowa in 1981. Dr Digre completed a residency in neurology and fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology at the University of Iowa from 1982-87. Dr Digre is Professor of Neurology and Ophthalmology as well as Adjunct Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and an Adjunct Professor of Anesthesia. Dr Digre founded the neuro-ophthalmology service at the John A. Moran Eye Center. Dr Digree also began the University's Headache Clinic and the Center of Excellence in Women's Health where she is the director. Dr Digre directs the Division of Neuro-ophthalmology and Headache in the Department of Neurology overseeing felllowships in Neuro-ophthalmology and Headache Medicine. Dr Digre has served as president of the North American Neuro-ophthalmology Society (NANOS), secretary to the American Neurological Association, and secretary and treasurer of the American Headache Society. Dr Digre is the recipient of many honors including the Gender Equity award, Distinguished Service Award from NANOS, The Linda Amos Award, The Martha Hughes Cannon Award for service to the women of the State of Utah, and along with her husband, Michael W. Varner, MD the 2012 Rosenblatt Award-the University of Utah's highest honor. |
