Description |
The Slice of Life videodisc introduced a whole new way of teaching and sharing medical images. In the mid 1980s, Dr Suzanne Stensaas began using one of the earliest forms of computer-based education. Working with Instructional Media Services, Dr Stensaas mastered a videodisc that could hold up to 50,000 images. Once the first edition of the videodisc was produced, it expanded through seven editions as more images were added by academic contributors worldwide. Interactive computer programs linked to images on the videodiscs were produced and sold along with the videodisc. An annual workshop evolved from the sharing efforts of contributors all over the world, the last of which was held at the University of Utah in 2007. |
