Show Captain hall then told the Indians about the trial of the white man, Powell, who shot and killed Alvis Tariump, (Willie Jack, ) on the upper Duchesne river last fail. Ke explained.that at the first trial at Haber City there was a hung jury and no-decision rendered; that this nan Powell was still in Jail and would be tried again at the next term cf court i A •' in lienor City in August, 1909. The Acting Agent then had the Interpreter:explain ••;n to the Indians that by a recent act cf Congress ail Indians whc were eld, infirm, blind, crippled, etc., could withdraw their entire amount of tribal fluids from Washington, and that same would he placed to their personal credit and that -they oould draw out specified amounts for their real needs at any time; that they could draw checks on this amount at any ' tine after receiving it fron Washington, with the approval -of the agent.
