Description |
Electron microscopy. Mature B and T lymphocytes are ameboid cells (5-8 m) with a high nucleus-cytoplasmic ratio. The cytoplasm contains a juxta-nuclear Golgi area with centrioles (6), few large mitochondria (4). Profiles of rough endoplasmic reticulum (RER) (5) are sparsely present. The surface exhibits short microvilli. Two to three small electron-dense granules are present (3). The nucleus (1) usually has a clear nucleolus (2) when activated. |
