Description Tumors in the cerebellopontine angle, such as meningiomas or schwannomas of the vestibulocochlear nerve, may produce a low-frequency, large-amplitude nystagmus when the patient looks toward the side of the lesion, and a high-frequency, small-amplitude nystagmus when the patient looks toward the side opposite the lesion.
