The letters touched on various matters, some not connected with his work in Washington, D.C., though several make mention of the possibility that he would be appointed to the Federal Reserve Board. Includes a 6-page typescript memo from the Treasury Department's Commissioner of Internal Revenue to tax collectors on withholding of income tax under the Revenue Act of 1934 as it related to interest on corporate bonds.
