Description |
Immediate loss of vision (no light perception) on impact indicates a severe optic nerve injury with poor prognosis for recovery, whereas a history of a short period of vision before deterioration suggests a potentially reversible process and may warrant a surgical intervention. We have observed three patients in whom vision spontaneously recovered following traumatic optic neuropathy after closed head injury. |
