Copies of letters to and from officials at First Security Corporation, based in Ogden, Utah, written in January of 1930. Some letters were by Marriner S. Eccles, but many of the letters were addressed to or by E. G. Bennett, Vice President and General Manager of First Security, and common topics were bank holding companies, branch banking, and law and legislation related to banks and branch banking. Correspondents included Idaho Senator John Thomas and Washington, D.C., attorney Charles W. Collins. Includes a copy of Senate Resolution 71, submitted by Senator William H. King in May 1929; and a printed speech by Maryland Congressman T. Alan Goldsborough concerning an appropriations bill for the Treasury Department that included bank-related legislation. |
