Gavin Kron wanted to help preserve some of the history of Vernal and the surrounding area. Gavin, who is a member of troop 234, discovered the plaques created by the Historic Preservation for local historic buildings had not been placed on the buildings. He along with three scout helpers, installed seventeen plaques. They installed the first plaque on the home of Dick and Joy Horton. The historic home was the Peter Neilson home built in 1893. Joy was born in the home and lived in the home with her husband Dick. Pictured from left are, William Jolley, Wesley Wood, Levi Mele, Josh Kitzmiller, Gaven Kron, Joy Horton and Dick Horton. |
