Araji Kasai was the first Kasai brother to come to America around 1900. Araji worked at a University cafeteria (maybe UCLA?) and learned how to handle food. He married Kichino Miura, date unknown. He went out on his own and opened A. Kasai Market. First son Tom was born in 1904. He had 2 more sons, George and James. He remained in Los Angeles until his death, date unknown. He and his family were relocated during WW II and returned to LA after the war. |
