Description |
Sarah Rudge was an early business woman in Vernal. She owned a store in Maeser and later on South Vernal Avenue where she sold flowers. She was known for her talking parrot, that mimicked Sarah's voice to all those who frequented the store. She was a caring woman who served ohters in her later years. She often took care of homebound neighbors and cared for women in her home following surgery. Sarah also became interested in beautifying the Maeser Cemetery. She organized a committee and campaigned for financing to improve the cemetery. She was instrumental in its improvement. She was born August 22, 1864. She died April 21, 1956. |
