Description |
Roosevelt businessmen were also introduced to the idea of a Commercial Club in July 1908, and moved into a building on the south end of Main Street. The club was located in the Henderson/Bartlett building in 1915. In October of 1915 the building was destroyed along with three other buildings. In 1923 the club made another move. A building was purchased for $3,500. On Christmas morning 1924 another fire completely destroyed the new building and its contents. By 1951 the club did community service projects and took care of one another. It started as a private club but was later opened to the public. |
